Regan Holgate comes from a small town in southwest Michigan but is happy to call Rockford home now since joining the team at Eyewitness News.
Regan is a graduate of Michigan State University. She majored in Journalism with a double minor in sports and broadcast journalism. It took a while for her to figure out what path she wanted to take, but she eventually found her place on the sidelines with a microphone in hand.
While at MSU, she interned at local affiliate WILX and spent a summer in New Brunswick, NJ as the Digital Media and Broadcast intern for the United States Golf Association. Her internship with the USGA was very special to her since she loves golf. She also worked as the lead sideline reporter for the Big Ten Network Student U program. She covered a number of different MSU sports including volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, and softball.
Regan won several different awards during her college career both regionally and nationally. Most notably, she received two student Emmys from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Michigan chapter; one for her on-camera work and the other for her sports reporting.
She is excited to bring her passion to Rockford and cover all the area’s local sports. Regan is looking forward to meeting the people and athletes that make the Rockford community so unique. If you see her out shooting a story, say hi and maybe talk some golf! If there is a story you think she should cover, please reach out!
