David Greenberg grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but now calls Rockford his home since joining the team at My Stateline.
David is a graduate of Michigan State University. He majored in Journalism with a minor in sports reporting. During his time at MSU, he spent the first two years as the Bullpen Catcher with the baseball team. After spending a summer warming up pitchers with the Lansing Lugnuts, a Toronto Blue Jays minor league affiliate, David traded in his catcher’s mask for a headset, shifting his focus from the bullpen to the booth where he did play-by-play and color commentary for the MSU Baseball Team on the Spartan Sports Radio Network.
While at MSU, David interned at local affiliates WKAR and WLNS, and spent a semester in Stamford, Connecticut interning at NBC Sports Group. He also worked for the Big Ten Network Student U program where he did play-by-play and color commentary for a number of university athletics, including hockey, soccer, and basketball. He worked with ESPN during their coverage of MSU Basketball games as a production assistant, and was a Producer-Reporter for the MSU Student Newscast, Focal Point.
During his time in East Lansing he helped cover stories like the Basketball team’s run to the Final Four, and the Larry Nassar scandal.
David is excited to kick off his career in Rockford, getting to know the community, and looking forward to covering all of the area’s local sports as well as the teams he grew up watching. If you ever see him out shooting a story, please stop by and say hi! And if you’ve got a good story you think he should cover, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
