Jess is a native of Monmouth County, New Jersey, where he attended Howell High School in the Fine and Performing Arts program. This is where he first found his passion for reporting and being on-camera. In high school, Jess was a two-time wrestling state champion. He has been with Eyewitness News since October 2022.
Jess is a graduate of Montclair State University with a major in Journalism and a minor in Japanese Language & Culture. At MSU he interned with the athletic department doing play-by-play and color commentary for all 13 division three sports that play on campus. He also anchored and produced weekly sports shows for the Red Hawk Sports Network. Jess was the sports section assistant editor for the Montclarion(The school’s newspaper) as well as a regular entertainment section writer.
After school, Jess started working for Next Level Sports as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Nippon Professional baseball league in Japan.
In his free time, Jess likes to go to the beach and watch sports. He loves hanging with friends and family and is happy to now be a part of the Rockford community.
